You can have multiple Shopify accounts

Switching between Shopify stores

This page was printed on May 23, 2021. You can find the latest version at https://help.shopify.com/de/manual/your-account/logging-in/shopify-admin-dropdown.

If you have multiple Shopify stores assigned to the same email address, you can log into the Shopify admin and then switch back and forth between the stores.

Track multiple shops

The shop switcher contains the Shopify stores where you have an account with the same email address.

In Shopify Plus, shops are also grouped by business (based on Shopify contracts) in the shop switcher.

In order to increase the security of your shops, you have to verify your email address for each shop. The email addresses of your employees should also be verified. After your email address has been verified for one shop, you can switch to other shops.

Note: the shop switcher does not contain any shops that are pinned, paused or closed. If you reactivate a frozen, paused or closed shop, you will see this shop in the Shop-Switcher drop-down list.

Assign users different authorizations in different shops

Account authorizations and other account settings are set individually for each shop. If you switch to another shop using the store switcher, you are logged in with the account that you use for the respective shop.

If you use a Shopify ID, changing or resetting your password will update your login for all shops. If you use a separate login for each shop, only the login for this shop will be updated when you change or reset your password.

Your authorizations are defined and managed in the individual shops. You can assign different authorizations to employees in a shop depending on their needs. For example, you can give an employee permission to edit products in Shop A, but not in Shop B.

Support for two-factor authentication and external login services

The shop switcher supports both two-factor authentication and external login with GSuite.

If you have activated these functions for your shop, you may be asked for your passcode (two-factor authentication) or you may have to log into your external service (GSuite) when you switch to another shop.
