How can I get audio files

Record and play back a Skype for Business meeting

When you record a Skype for Business meeting, audio, video, chat, screen sharing, PowerPoint slides, whiteboard activity, and polls are recorded. Each of the presenters can record a meeting and save it on their computer.

Record your Skype for Business meeting

  1. Click the button More options and choose Start recording out.

If the recording option is grayed out, your audio devices may not be connected. Click the microphone icon to connect audio devices, then try again.

  2. Use the controls at the bottom of the meeting to pause, resume, or stop the recording.

  3. If you want to see what other people are recording, point to the red record button.

  4. If you want to stop recording, click on Stop recording.

  5. Skype for Business automatically saves the recording in MP4 format, which can be played in Windows Media Player.

You can close the meeting while the recording is being processed.

Play and share a recording

When the recording has been processed, you can access it to play it back or send it to someone else. Skype for Business displays a message when the recording is ready. You can click the notification to see the Recording manager to open. Or, if you missed the notification, click in the Skype for Business main window Tools and then on Recording manager.

In the window Recording manager:

  1. Click the recording to highlight it, then click on the right side of the window Play back.

  2. You can also rename or delete the recording at this point.

  3. To share your recordings with others, click Searchto find the recording you want, and then copy the file to publish to a shared location, such as OneDrive or a SharePoint site.

If you can't publish the recording, check that you have enough space on the page.

Tip: Recordings are on your computer in the folder Videos/Skype for Business recordings saved.
