What is the appeal of APEX LEGENDS

"Valheim" currently has more Steam players than "Apex Legends" and "GTA 5"

Life as a Viking man or woman is anything but leisurely - nevertheless, or perhaps precisely because of this, it currently seems to be very attractive to the gaming community. Because the indie game Valheim is currently conquering the charts and developing into a surprise hit.

A look at the current Steam charts shows that currently (February 17, 2021, 1 p.m.) 159,187 players are playing the Viking game at the same time. So lies Valheim currently at number 4 in the charts, behind Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and Playerunknown's Battlegrouds (PUBG). The sandbox game, inspired by Chinese mythology, follows in fifth place Tale of Immortal, to come after Apex Legends and GTA 5.

But you can also go beyond this snapshot Valheim move into the hall of the glorious: Because the game made it into the top records of the Top Records with a peak of 391,325 in February 2021. This ranking is currently led by PUBG with 3,236,027 players.

2 million downloads in 13 days

It wasn't until the previous Monday that Iron Gate had the team behind Valheim, announced a milestone: the game has already been downloaded two million times in just 13 days. This has created "the largest Viking population in more than 700 years of history," as the team announced: In 1300 there were only 500,000 Vikings.

It is also ironic that Valheim is not even "finished" in the strict sense. Instead, the indie game is in the early access phase, in which there are still some bugs to be ironed out. (stm, February 17, 2021)
