How complicated is your family

Family is everything, right?

A family is important to every child. She is always there for you. What does your family mean to you?

Our Topic of the month for June is: "Family is everything - right?"

Family is where you can open the fridge without asking. Leo can go to two refrigerators without asking. Because she feels at home in two places: with her mother, with whom she lives, and with her father, whom she visits regularly. Leo's parents both take good care of her. Incidentally, this is a child's right: every child has the right to have contact with both parents - even if they live separately (Article 9 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child).

Many children's rights concern the issues of family and growing up. What does family mean to you? Delicious food and a cozy bed, security, protection and cohesion. But sunshine is not always the only thing, there can also be stress. But somehow you always pull yourself together - after all, you're a family! But families can also be very different. Sometimes it includes other people you are not related to, or pets. Read more with us!

The right to parents

Children have a right to their parents. This is what the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child says. But what does that even mean? And what happens if the parents separate or the child is not doing well with the parents?
