At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Wolfenbüttel campus, the following W2 professorship is to be filled at the earliest possible date:

Machine perception and machine learning

We are looking for a personality who is looking forward to bringing specialist skills and professional experience to the training of students. The position holder should represent the professorship in teaching and applied research. In addition to taking on the “Machine Perception” course in the master’s course, the bachelor’s courses should include the courses "Digital Media Technology", "Digital Technology", "Modulation Process" and "Engineering Informatics" are represented by the professorship. The willingness to take on courses that are related to this subject area or that are part of the basic area of ​​the bachelor's degree programs of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is an indispensable prerequisite for the future job holder. As a strong research university, we support you in your commitment to application-oriented research. Furthermore, the willingness to actively participate in the self-administration of the university is expected. Job-related requirements are a university degree, ideally in electrical engineering, information technology or a special course (e.g. communications engineering or computer science) that matches the focus of the professorship, previous pedagogical and didactic experience (to be proven through courses with students), the special ability to in-depth independent scientific work (ideally evidenced by an above-average doctorate in engineering or computer science) as well as subject-related and application-oriented professional experience in the subject area to be taken on. Relevant professional experience includes the development or application of AI technologies, particularly in the field of machine perception and machine learning. This relevant professional experience can be derived from the responsible performance of tasks such as digital image processing, object recognition or sensor data fusion z. B. for the application areas Industry 4.0, medical technology, agriculture, intelligent energy systems or autonomous driving result. Sufficient knowledge of German and English is essential, as the courses are predominantly offered in German and some in English. Proven management experience and experience from work in laboratories are desirable through responsible functions or project management.
