What is a Philly cheesesteak
Instructions for the sandwich:
The meat is cut into wafer-thin slices and cut a little smaller with the knife. Quasi homemade hack. But you can still see that they are pieces.
The pepper and onion are cut. I cut the bell pepper into fine slices and the onion into large cubes, but that doesn't really matter. Pour some olive oil into a pan and melt a tablespoon of butter in it over medium heat. When the butter and oil mixture has melted and begins to foam, add the onions to the pan. Salt the onions and sweat slowly until translucent, stirring occasionally. This should take about 5-10 minutes over medium heat. When the onions are translucent and soft, add the peppers and finely chopped garlic. Now is the time to be patient. The temperature does not need to be increased. Simply stir the onion pepper mixture over and over again. Now you can get the fragrant freshly braised onions out of the pan.
From here I would prepare the sandwiches one at a time, little tip.
Now it's actually pretty quick. Heat the pan fully and add a high-temperature oil. I like to use peanut oil. Put the meat in the pan and fry it properly, mix it up a little and turn it with a lot of Dalmatian rub on it (or just strong salt and pepper). Then the onion pepper mixture on top. Mix everything once to the side of the pan, put 4 slices of cheese on top, baguette next to it and put a lid on it. When the cheese is melted, take the baguette from the pan, stir the meat with the cheese and put it directly on the sandwich. I promise you it tastes exactly the way it looks. Simply divine.
