When were diapers introduced in India?

In 1976, Pampers started the Swiss diaper revolution with the first industrially manufactured disposable diaper

Pampers is made for Pampers with the first industrially manufactured disposable diaper for the Swiss diaper revolution Geneva, September Pampers celebrates its 30th birthday in Switzerland this year, as the first disposable diaper it caused a sensation on Swiss diaper changing tables. She was able to convince mothers and babies of herself in diaper ropes. An enormous reduction in workload, more mobility and improved dryness in the diaper area were just a few of the advantages with which Pampers was able to inspire young and old. Almost three quarters of all children who saw the light of day in Switzerland in the past 30 years have already been wrapped in Pampers. The synonym for the disposable diaper has become an indispensable part of Swiss changing tables. In the last 30 years, Pampers has continuously advanced the diaper market with innovations and given it impetus. While the first pampers were like a large, rectangular shawl, today they are more reminiscent of underwear. The current Pampers are a high-performance product which, in addition to the usual Pampers dryness and optimal wearing comfort, also meet the special needs of the various development phases of a child. In addition to Pampers diapers for newborns, there are also diapers that the little ones can put on and take off themselves and with which they can play in and around the water. While the diapers have been continuously developed, the approach to the development and marketing of the diaper innovations and services has always remained the same: seeing the world through the eyes of babies, understanding the everyday life of parents and offering products for the special needs of the little ones that was and is the philosophy of Pampers.

At the beginning of the first disposable diapers, the Pampers, there was a smart grandfather: Victor Mills, Director at Procter & Gamble, USA, who changed his grandchildren in the evening and had enough of changing with cloth diapers. Victor Mills was determined to come up with something better. From the changing table back to the laboratory, he commissioned one of his most capable employees to take care of practical disposable diapers in 1956. A year later, a whole working group was already dealing with the task and in 1961 the time had come: the first Pampers conquered the American market. They owe their name to the English term for pampering, to pamper. From America to Germany to Switzerland Twelve years later, babies outside North America, in Germany, were able to wrap themselves in Pampers for the first time. Here the diapers were first tested in Saarland. The test market results were overwhelming, the success in America was convincing, and the disposable diaper was introduced throughout Germany in autumn 1973. Due to the great demand, plans for a Pampers production facility in Germany began as early as 1973. Today, Euskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, still has the largest Pampers production facility outside of North America, in which Pampers diapers are manufactured for around 30 countries, and finally, Swiss mothers and babies also enjoyed the new disposable diaper. Pampers are not only produced in Germany, they are also continuously developed. In September 2000, the research center for paper products was opened in Schwalbach am Taunus, the headquarters of the German Procter & Gamble GmbH. In the company's second-largest research center, Pampers diapers, among other things, are further developed and new and improved materials are researched. It is not made easy for a new diaper. you

often has to go through several thousand tests and many months of development, sometimes even years, before it comes onto the market. The consumer contact center, which is directly attached to the research center, plays a central role in the further development of Pampers diapers. Every week, parents and their babies test new diapers here for their suitability for everyday use. After all, every new diaper should help the children even better to develop optimally and to feel completely satisfied. In addition to diapers that are adapted to the special development phases of a child, Pampers, thanks to its deep understanding of the world of babies, offers parents not only excellent products but also accompanying and tailor-made information. At, for example, parents can familiarize themselves with a wide range of services and information on topics such as pregnancy, birth and the child’s developmental phases. 4 Pampers then and now Mothers report on their first Pampers experiences What was it like in 1976, when there were disposable diapers for the first time in Switzerland and what has changed for babies and mothers? Pampers asked mothers who first swaddled with Pampers 30 years ago and their grown daughters, who are now mothers themselves. Ortrud Philipp (56) three children (34, 32, 29 years old), four grandchildren (5, 2, 2, 1 years old) When the first Pampers came out, I immediately went away with my two children for the weekend and have really enjoyed my new freedom as a mother. That wasn't possible with my big one. I tried it once: a small travel bag for me and a huge one for my son with fresh cloth diapers and laundry, a third one for used diapers and laundry. What a hassle it was. Never again - I thought at the time. When there was the Pampers, a lot changed for me. So I was able to stop by for a coffee chat with my girlfriend without having to take half the linen cupboard with me. Claudia Seltmann (32 years), daughter of Ortrud Phillipp Three children (5 years and twins 2 years) The Pampers speaks to my twins. Or much more - my two think it's great to hold the fresh diaper in your hand while changing diapers and to squeak and laugh at the funny motifs. Personally, I enjoy changing diapers with Pampers a lot more. Changing diapers is not that great in itself, but when I have to change diapers, I am happy to have a diaper that fits properly, is comfortable and looks nice. After all, when it comes to my children's clothes, I don't go for gray, washed-out or uncomfortable jogging suits.

Ingeborg Otto (60 years old) A son (30 years old) and a daughter (28 years old) Pampers gave us better parental leave even back then. After we switched from cloth diapers to Pampers for my son, my husband and I made an agreement: We wanted to play with our son or use the time we saved by less washing and ironing. The Pampers were a real relief. With my son, when I was still using cloth diapers, I honestly thought twice about whether I had to change him again. Beatrix Hohgraefe (63 years old) A daughter (29 years old), a grandson (9 months) I laughed at my mother when I bought the new Pampers for my little daughter and my mother wanted to help me with diaper changing. And what did she do? She wanted to put the used Pampers in the washing machine. Thank goodness those times were over. Dorthe Hohgraefe-Salicevic (29), daughter of Beatrix Hohgraefe A son (9 months) My mother often told me about the pre-Pampers time. Before a child was born, diapers were bought en masse and individually crocheted around with mouse teeth. I can't even imagine getting by without disposable diapers. The babies stay so much drier and we have less work because the whole laundry is no longer necessary. In my opinion, the suction power of the Pampers is simply unbeatable. The diaper fit is also great. The diaper is not that bulky and gives my son a lot of freedom of movement.

Dorothee Parr (31) A son (2) and a daughter (5) My parents told me that when they traveled with me as a baby, they always had Pampers with them. My mother and her friends, who also had babies, found the Pampers really useful. I think because my mother took the Pampers, I still trust them today and wrap my children with them too. In the meantime, the Pampers have become even more sophisticated. I think it's particularly great that Pampers has the right diaper for every stage of my child's development.

Inspired by babies, created by Pampers At Pampers, the whole world revolves around babies. Seeing the world through baby's eyes is not only highly desirable here, but a prerequisite for developing products and services that meet the needs of the little ones. Regardless of whether you are a basic researcher, product developer, sales representative or marketing expert, the following applies to everyone: only those who see the world through baby's eyes know how to make it better. Pampers learns every day from babies, their parents, renowned experts and from their own studies and experience. This knowledge and understanding is then passed on to parents and their babies, but also to other partners, in the form of products and services. After all, Pampers wants to support the little ones to develop optimally. Learning from babies also means recognizing that the youngest have specific needs at every stage of their development. For this reason, Pampers offers diapers for every development phase of a child and supports parents with tailor-made information. Pampers Research The world is seen through babies' eyes, especially in Pampers Research. Pampers diapers only come onto the market after they have been extensively tested by babies and their parents. A large Pampers research center is located in Schwalbach am Taunus for this purpose. An essential part of this research center is the consumer contact center, which is visited weekly by approx. Mothers and fathers with their babies. Pampers researchers, product developers, mothers, fathers and babies work together as a team to continuously improve the diaper. Various tests are important for this:

Used Diaper Tests: This tests how Pampers diapers absorb a baby's body fluids. Used diapers are checked and analyzed in special laboratories. Skin Moisture Tests: Product researchers examine the moisture content of the skin in the diaper area to find out whether the Pampers diaper will keep baby skin dry. Fit tests: Here the babies are allowed to crawl and romp around in a small playground. While they are playing, a product researcher pays particular attention to the fit of the diaper and checks the diaper fit. Parent survey: In addition to the various tests, many parents regularly fill out questionnaires on various topics relating to diapers. The answers help the research team to keep improving Pampers and to stimulate the diaper market with new innovations. Pampers learns from babies Pampers research is inspired by babies and passes on their knowledge. For example, there are special Pampers rooms in the Schwalbach research center, in which everyone can put themselves in the baby's world. Many Pampers employees, but also trading partners and media partners, took advantage of the opportunity and looked at the world through baby's eyes. In the Pampers rooms, chairs and tables suddenly become very large, milk cartons very heavy and walking on the floor is incredibly exhausting. You experience first-hand how a child has to feel in the various development phases of his life and how important it is to be inspired by babies in order to be able to develop products for their special needs. Thanks to intensive research and collaboration with various experts, Pampers can also offer parents tailor-made information on the subject of child development. Pampers accompanies mothers and fathers from the start

and informs them about the various development phases through a service program during the first two years of their child's life. After the birth, the parents receive e.g. Information about your baby's emotional world. From the child's third month of life, parents can read a lot about the little world explorers and learn how the child perceives their environment more actively. From the age of twelve months, parents learn how children develop their own personality. Pampers also offers information on child development under. Parents have the opportunity to obtain information about the different development phases of their child at any time. Even during pregnancy, parents can find out about many other topics about how the child is developing in the womb. You will learn, for example, that your baby can already hear in the stomach and has already developed a sense of taste. The articles and tips on are provided by experts at the Pampers Institute.
