Supplementary area

For students of the Faculty of Biology

As part of the individual and structured supplement, you can take modules from the Faculty of Biology or modules from other faculties and, if necessary, have non-university work credited.

Biology (major subject)

For students in the core subject, a project module and a further special module from the offer of the Faculty of Biology are planned in the area of ​​the structured supplement.

If you have a justified request, you can take another module instead of the special module, earn credit points from university programs or do internships. In this case, contact the academic student advisory service.

Biology (single subject)

In the area of ​​structured supplementation, you can take modules from the following faculties:

  • biology
  • chemistry
  • physics
  • mathematics
  • Health sciences
  • Psychology and Sports Science
  • law Sciences
  • Economics
  • Technical Faculty

The area comprises 20 credit points, which must be completed in the form of modules. 10 CP, i.e. usually one module, must be achieved at the Faculty of Biology.

With a justified request, you can also take other modules, earn credit points from university programs or do internships. In this case, contact the academic student advisory service.

Modules from other faculties must be completed in accordance with the conditions defined in the module description (prerequisites, courses, type of examination). Non-university internships are generally based on the conditions of the non-university project module (20-PM_au) in the subject of environmental sciences.

The academic study advisory service will of course also support you if you are unsure whether the desired event meets the above-mentioned conditions.

Environmental science

In the area of ​​structured supplementation, you must take the non-university project module (20-PM_au). In addition, another module worth 10 CP has to be completed from the following faculties:

  • biology
  • chemistry
  • physics
  • law Sciences
  • Educational science
  • Health sciences
  • mathematics
  • Psychology and Sports Science
  • sociology
  • Economics

With a justified request, you can also take other modules, earn credit points from university programs or do internships. In this case, contact the academic student advisory service.

In the area of ​​structured supplementation, you can take modules from the following faculties:

Verifiable courses

Winter semester:

Basic module biology theory I (lecture)

The event covers a wide range of biochemical, molecular biological and cell biological content. Further information can be found in the event details in the eKVV and on the website of the module (link available in the eKVV).

Summer semester:

Basic module biology theory II (lecture)

In the event, topics from neurobiology and behavioral research, evolutionary biology and animal and plant ecology are taught. Further information can be found in the event details in the eKVV and on the website of the module (link available in the eKVV).


For your supplementary area, you can also choose courses from the supplementary modules of the Faculty of Biology. You can find the events in the eKVV.
