Game programming with GameMaker

Time: 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m., online
Number of participants: max. 20 people
Target group: 9-14 years

Speaker: Robert Konrad, employee at Deck13

With the help of the game development tool GameMaker, workshop participants receive a motivating introduction to object-oriented programming. Supervised by experts from both education and game development, basic programming concepts (as well as a little physics and mathematics) are taught, which enable participants to independently implement their own game.

GameMaker is a comprehensive software package for game development that is also available in a free version. It uses a visual representation of the program code to make it clear and understandable, but also offers advanced users the option of switching to a classic, textual code representation. It is particularly suitable for getting started with the often daunting topic of software development and for generating sustainable career opportunities from enthusiasm for computer games.

If possible, the participants should install GameMaker on their own computer before the workshop.

During the workshop the speaker gives a course (webinar), the participants are welcome to "share" their own screen and receive feedback.
