How do I do test cases from Dropbox

Functions

Requirements management

Requirements, specifications and use cases can be recorded.

Risk module

Risks can be defined according to customizable templates and formulas. Risk reductions can also be defined.

Test module

Test cases can be defined, tests planned and any number of test cycles carried out.

Traceability

The traceability among the elements can be set up as optional or mandatory. By default, there must be several traces, e.g. B. from the requirements to the specifications and test cases.

Predefined or customizable project templates

Each project is based on a template that defines the design elements to be managed with the Matrix Requirements products. The template also defines the establishment of traceability and which risk module is to be used.

Hierarchical data structure

All design elements are saved in a tree structure. That way, you can be well organized and easily found.

Full text search

Allows you to search for any item using search terms. You can filter the element structure so that only matching elements are displayed.

Verification of traceability in real time

If the traceability is interrupted or suspicious, for example if a trace is missing or is no longer up-to-date, this is displayed directly on the user interface.

File attachments

Files can be added to any text block. Files are stored with secure keys so they can be securely shared without user authentication (like a Dropbox file).

Complete element history

All changes to elements are logged and can be viewed in the element history or the project-wide activity log. Revisions of elements can be compared so that changes can be viewed quickly.

Element preview

Referenced elements can be previewed without leaving the current element. All you have to do is hold down the Shift key and point the mouse to the referenced element or the element links in the directory structure.

Summary report of changes

In this report, all changes can be displayed within a specified period.

Session comments

Multiple changes to a project can be logged under the same change comment without having to be re-entered for each change.

Unique element links

Every design element, report, and document under review has a unique link, like a website. This link can be embedded in another document or an email so that others can access it directly (provided they have access to the project).

Project analysis reports

Reports can be used to analyze the content and traceability of projects, to carry out test planning and execution, design reviews, risk assessments, etc.

Controlled documents

Documents can be created from building blocks, such as audit trails, signature fields, etc. They are linked to the project and can have sections that are automatically filled in with the latest project data. Controlled documents can be frozen at any time.

Document templates

You can set up document templates, share them and use them in other projects.

Document archive

An unlimited number of documents can be archived in an archive.

Electronic signatures

Archived documents can be signed electronically.

Obsolete object warnings

If a user is working on an element that has been changed by someone else, this is indicated in the user interface.

Review flow for items

You can set up a process to mark items with a review flag. A change to the element can automatically reset this flag.

Variants (labels and filters)

It is possible to define labels that can be attached to elements of a given element category. For example, test cases can be marked as smoke or regression tests or both, or requirements as important for FDA, CE or both. The directory structure and the reports can be filtered according to these labels.

Time zone and formatting

Projects have a central time zone and date / time formatting that is used by all team members and reports. However, the user interface of the individual team members can be adapted to the local time zone and date / time formatting.

Plug-in for JIRA Cloud

Issues related to an item can be tracked in JIRA Cloud. Problems found during tests can be automatically added to the executed test cases via link.

Smart text blocks

You can define predefined text blocks such as a version number or the intended use. The text blocks can then be inserted into rich text fields as macros.

Cross-project references

Cross references to elements in other projects are possible.

Project templates

You can create reusable project templates. These can be used to speed up the set-up of several similar projects.

Technical information and specifications

Data centers

We have servers in the US, Canada, England, Germany, France, India and Australia. You can decide where your Matrix Requirements instance will be installed.
Special requirements or inquiries can also be discussed. If necessary, our application can also be installed in Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.

Front end

HTML5 client (compatible with the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge). We recommend Chrome for maximum ease of use.

HTTPS

Multiple user access via a web application with a secure access protocol.
You can check our certificates here.

Access control

User roles per project: Access control lists define who can change which field in which project.

Passwords

The period of validity and security of passwords can be configured.

XML export

All project data including the audit trail can be exported as an XML file.

Excel export

Database elements can be exported as an XLSX file.

Reports and documents

Reports and documents (HTML, Word and PDF) are created with XSLT 2.0. Custom XSLT versions can be made available for the creation of documents.

Intranet version

System requirements

Please contact us for the requirements for the operating system, database and web server

Installation services

Installation and backup configuration are offered as a service.

Backups

Instructions for backing up databases can be provided.

Configuration options

Element categories

MatrixALM can easily be configured to describe categories for design input and design output.

Element structure

Each item category can have different fields with values: rich text, drop-down menus, tables, etc.

Reports

Custom or modified reports can be added. Reports are simple transformations of the project data (XSLT).

Word templates

These can be customized.

Controlled documents

Standard templates for new controlled documents can be defined.

Risk module

The risk module can be configured to use different risk assessment methods and risk levels.

Test module

The test module can be configured in such a way that different test results for individual test steps and rules for calculating the overall result from the individual test step results are possible.

Traceability rules

Which traces can or must exist between elements can be configured.

Variants / label

Which labels can be set for the individual categories can be defined.

REST API and integrations

REST API

We also have a REST API that our customers can use. can all functions can be called via the REST API.

Possible integrations

Matrix Requirements products can be configured to integrate with: These allow you to create a ticket in the external service directly from Matrix to inform your colleagues that they need to fix a bug or work on specifications. The ticket is linked to the matrix element in both directions. This enables excellent traceability between the matrix and the ticketing system.

Agile synchronization clients

If you do not want to transfer parts of the "Source of Truth" into Matrix Requirements, we can set up the synchronization (requirements, tests ...) of the following external services:
  • Confluence (cloud or server)
  • Team Foundation Server
  • GitHub
  • Zephyr for JIRA (via ZAPI)
  • Pivotal tracker
  • JIRA (cloud or server)
Creating a new converter is pretty easy. We can easily create others or explain to you how you can create a new one yourself using our JAVA template.
